Currently, we looking for volunteer Delivery Drivers and for volunteers to work at our Back Stock Warehouse.

The delivery driver role requires volunteers to be Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checked.

Below are brief descriptions of the various volunteer roles at the Foodbank.

Client Side Volunteer

Dealing directly with people presenting vouchers engaging them in conversation whilst their food parcels are prepared and endeavouring to signpost them to more long term support

Distribution Warehouse Volunteer

Selecting food and packing the parcels during distribution sessions on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays

Back Stock Warehouse

Collecting the donations from the supermarket collection points, weighing them in, sorting them into type and date order, and moving stock from our back stock warehouse to the Distribution Centre, in the foodbank’s van.

Delivery Driver

Volunteer drivers use their own vehicles to deliver food parcels to clients who, due to medical reasons or rural isolation, are unable to come to the Distribution Centre to collect their food.

Other roles

There are a number of roles such as ‘Safeguarding Lead’, ‘Press and Communications Lead’, and certain admin roles that are from time to time available but these are normally filled from the volunteers who have experience running the Foodbank.

If you are interested in volunteering please get in touch, we’d love to hear from you!
